Ben Bates, Jr. is a founding director
and has served as a director of the Bank since its inception in
December of 1988. Mr. Bates is President of Coldwell Banker Ben
Bates Realty in Palatka and Crescent City, Florida. Mr. Bates is
President of Bates Hewett & Floyd Insurance Agency in Palatka,
Florida. In addition, Mr. Bates is President of St. Johns GM Superstore
in Palatka, Florida and Chevrolet of Starke in Starke, Florida.
Mr. Bates is active in the Palatka and Putnam County communities
being involved in the Palatka Panthers Booster Clubs, Putnam County
Chamber of Commerce, Northeast Florida Board of Realtors, Rodeheaver
Boys Ranch, United Way and currently serves as President of the
Trustees of First Baptist Church of Palatka, Florida.
Stephen L. Beckett, DDS is a founding
director and has served as a director of the Bank since its inception
in December of 1988. Mr. Beckett has his own dental practice,
Stephen L. Beckett, DDS, which was established in Palatka, Florida
in 1977. In addition, Dr. Beckett is a member of the Putnam Medical
Arts and a Partner of Palatka Professional Offices.
Ronald E. Clark, Chairman of the Board,
is a founding director and has served as a director of the Bank
since December, 1988. Mr. Clark has continued as a director since
that time, except for a brief period in 1990 and 1991. He is
an attorney in private practice at his own firm, Ronald E. Clark,
P.A. in Palatka, Florida. Mr. Clark has also been the Executive
Vice President of the Exchange Bank of Palatka. In addition,
Mr. Clark was the County Attorney for Putnam County for twenty-two
years.
Jack E. Cremer was appointed a director
of the Bank in May of 2007. Mr. Cremer is the owner and
president of Cremer Wood Procurement, Inc. Prior to that
he was co-owner of Southland Forest Products, Inc., VP & General
Manager for Edwards Wood Products, VP of Manufacturing for Anderson
Hardwood Floors, VP of Manufacturing for Walterboro Veneer Company,
Plant Manager of Corbett Plywood Company and Procurement Supervisor
for Union Camp Corporation.
Kelley R. Smith, Jr. is a founding
director and has served as a director of the Bank since December
of 1988. Mr. Smith is the owner and General Manager of Gator
Timber & Land, LLC in Palatka, Florida. He is also part owner
of Los Nino Corp., a ranch and tree farm in Palatka, Florida.
Mr. Smith also serves on the Board of Directors of Clay Electric
Co-Op in Keystone Heights, Florida. From 1976 to 1984, Mr. Smith
served as a County Commissioner for the Putnam County Commission
in Palatka. Mr. Smith also served on the Board of Directors of
the St. Johns River Water Management District from 1985 to 1989
and as a member of the Florida House of Representatives from
1990 to 2000. Additionally Mr. Smith is involved in the Putnam
County Chamber of Commerce, the Putnam County Agriculture Extension
Advisory Committee and the Florida Forestry Association.
William E. Torode, III is a founding
director and has served as a director of the Bank since December
of 1988. Mr. Torode is a director and officer of the Association
for Retarded Citizens. Mr. Torode's prior business experience
was as an insurance agent at State Farm. He has a B.S. and B.A.
in Real Estate from the University of Florida. In addition, Mr.
Torode is a director of the Putnam County ARC, a past president
of the Kiwanis Club, and a past President of the Putnam County
Chamber of Commerce.
John H. Trescot, Jr. has been a director
of the Bank since March of 1991. Mr. Trescot was formerly a Senior
Vice President of Hudson Pulp & Paper Corp. and a past President
of the Florida Forestry Association. He is currently a Vice President
of AWA Management Corporation, a consulting firm. In addition,
Mr. Trescot is a director of Magnum Hunter Resources, Inc., an
energy company listed on the NY Stock Exchange. He is also a
director of The Florida Foundation for Future Scientists, and
a Blue and Gold advisor for the U.S. Naval Academy. His past
community associations have included being a director of Rodeheaver
Boys Ranch, and a board member of the North Florida Council of
Boy Scouts. Mr. Trescot has a BME from Clemson and a MBA from
Harvard.
John M. Williams was appointed a director
of the Bank in May of 2007. Mr. Williams has been president
of W.W. Plastering, Inc. since 1987. He is also president
of W.W. Contractors, Inc. and W.W. Land Corporation.
John
W. Wolfenden, M.D. has been a director of the Bank
since April, 1993. Dr. Wolfenden is a medical doctor. In addition,
Dr. Wolfenden is a former President of the Putnam County Chamber
of Commerce and former Trustee of the St. Johns River Community
College. Dr. Wolfenden served as the Chief of Staff at Putnam
County Medical and as a member of the Medical Center Board of
Trustees.
Clay Harris was appointed Senior Vice
President and Chief Credit Officer of the Bank August 20, 2007. Clay
Harris began his banking career with Farm Credit Banks in Alabama
upon graduating from Auburn University with a degree in Agriculture
Business and Economics in 1980. Mr. Harris is also a graduate
of the South Alabama Graduate School of Banking and served as
Vice President of Credit Administration with SouthTrust Bank
in Decatur, Al., and later Senior Vice President of Loan Operations
with both SouthTrust Bank and Compass Bank in Birmingham, Al. Mr.
Harris joined Putnam State Bank in July 2005 as Vice President
of Loan Administration.
A. Duane Hull has been a Senior Vice
President and the Senior Loan Officer of the Bank since January
of 2002. Prior to that, from May 2001 to January 2002, Mr. Hull
was self-employed providing contract loan review services through
the Independent Loan Review Service in Ormond Beach, Florida.
From 1992 to 2001, Mr. Hull was the Vice President and Senior
Loan Officer at Citrus Bank (formerly Citizen's First National
Bank) in Crescent City, Florida. Mr. Hull has experience working
in the banking industry and related fields for over forty years,
particularly in the area of loan review.
L. Wayne McClain was appointed President
and Chief Executive Officer of the Bank June 1, 2006. Mr. McClain
served as Senior Vice President of Putnam State Bank prior to
his appoint as President. From 2001 to 2004, Mr. McClain was
the Director of Human Resources for the Board of County Commissioners
for Putnam County, Florida. From 1992 to 2001, he was the Executive
Vice President of Administration for JM Family Enterprises, Inc./Southeast
Toyota Distributors. At the time, the Company was a $9.1 billion
dollar diversified automotive company in Deerfield Beach, Florida,
which focused on Toyota distributions as well as financing, warranty
and insurance services. While at JM Family Enterprises, Mr. McClain
served on the Executive Management Committee, the Marketing Advisory
Committee, and the Customer Development Committee. Prior to his
position as Executive Vice President, Mr. McClain also worked
at JM Family Enterprises, as its Group Vice President - Human
Resources/Administration from 1984 to 1992. Mr. McClain has over
twenty-five years of experience in executive management, human
resources, and marketing.
Robert B. Shackley is a Senior Vice
President and the Bank's Chief Financial Officer, since October
of 2001. He is also the Chief Financial Officer of Neighborhood.
From 1987 to 1999, Mr. Shackley worked at Citizen's First National
Bank in Crescent City, Florida, as its Senior Vice President
and Corporate Cashier. In addition, Mr. Shackley has prior banking
experience as the Vice President and Cashier of the following
financial institutions: Carney Bank in Boynton Beach, Florida;
First Bank of Lakeland in Lakeland, Florida; Flagship National
Bank in West Palm Beach, Florida; and Flagship First National
Bank & Trust in Boynton Beach, Florida.
Tammy Sharpe is a Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. Tammy received a B.A. Business Management from the University Of Phoenix, an AA Degree in Financial Services from Daytona Beach Community College and is a Graduate of Florida School of Banking. She began her career in 1984 with Bank At Ormond By The Sea as a customer Service Representative. In 1989 she moved to Barnett Bank of Volusia County as a Branch Specialist and in 1993 she moved to SouthTrust Bank as Vice President Financial Center Manager. Ms. Sharpe joined Putnam State Bank in March of 2005. Her community volunteer work includes President of the Bunnell Chamber Of Commerce, President of Flagler Habitat for Humanity, Board Member of the Flagler County Chamber Of Commerce, Board Member of the Flagler Home Builders Association and an Affiliate Member of the Flagler County Association of Realtors.
